Innovative Development in US Auto industry

Timing pressures, effective cost management and greater focus on providing consumers innovative products, the US auto industry has successfully emerged for global recession. In order to create safer, faster reliable, desirable vehicles, the OEMs(Original Equipment Manufacturer) and their supply chain are not just using simulation to validate, but to design, study and optimize their products.

For the above process, there is higher need of CAEs(Certified American Executives), in the concept stage earlier, but now they are also needed to for the engineering release process. Factors that are changing the perception of CAE’s role in product development and reducing non-value added tasks include advanced process automation, evolving collaboration tools and the increased availability of high performance computing resources.

The innovative development focuses on the heritage of engine management systems (EMS) by examining the evolution of the fuel delivery systems of the Honda- MacLaren Formula 1 race cars, the Chevrolet Corvette and Nissan Z/ZX production sports cars. These case studies provide the foundation for a modification to the product life-cycle model, merging the seemingly unrelated technologies of automotive fuel and ignition systems and computer microprocessor components.

EMS technology includes the R&D, testing, technical assistance and production, extensive network of automakers, race car constructors and parts suppliers.

However the end product may be improved continuously.
