Alcohol abuse is considered as one of the major causes for the health irregularities in America. The following statistics have been taken from 2008 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH).

According to the survey, more than half of Americans aged 12 and above were recorded as the current drinkers in 2008. This means nearly 129 million people in America are current drinkers. Not only drinking, more than one fifth of the people who were aged 12 or above participated in binge drinking in 2008. And among the youth, more than 40 percent of them had binge dinking in 2008.

Alcohol consumption is very dangerous, but some people take illicit substances after drinking alcohol, which is even more dangerous. Some more people drive under the influence of these things, which is extremely dangerous. It is estimated that more than 12 percent of the people aged 12 or older drove under the influence of alcohol at least once in 2008.

The above stated figures state the condition of America in relation to Alcohol. It is very clear that millions are alcohol drinkers and loosing the health.
