Automobile sales hit the new record of 13,29,086 units in month of September, in 2010. Passenger cars, and motorcycles have the major part in this sales. Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, stated that the sales of the automobiles beat the expectations. In the month of August, the total sales of the automobiles are 12,63,293 units in 2010. According to annual basis, 21.63 percent is expected to grow in the sales of automobiles in the month of September. Domestic passenger sales were increased by 30.38 percent to 1,69,082 units in September comparing to the sales units 1,29,684 in the same month in the previous year. The sales of Automobiles in September are considered as best ever monthly sales, because they are better than the best of sales units in the month of the August, 1,60,794, in current year.

In the same way the sales of motorcycles of 7,78,352 units, increased by 15.50 percent from 6,73,893 units in the same month in the last year. The sales units of 7,27,542 were the previous highest sales in the month of August in the current year.

The sales of the two-wheeler were achieved to 10,05,162 units in the month of September, and they were increased by 19.93 percent from the sales units of same month in last year are 8,38,152 units. Best sales units in the month of August in this year are 9,57,304 units.

Commercial vehicles’ sales were 59,455 in the month of September, they were increased from 45,889 sales units in the last year, and it was increased by 29.56 percent.

There is expectation that the growth of the sales of automobile continue in the coming months. Policy rates may effect the industry in month of November.
