There are less sales of Maruti Suzuki’s M800 model in domestic market, India. But the surprising thing is that it has good demand in foreign market. There is a rise in exports of this model car in this fiscal year.

According to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers data, M800’s exports increased by 91.49 percent and the sales units were 4,435 from April to August in 2010 while comparing the same period last year, units were 2,316 units. There were 1,075 units exports in the month of August in 2010 against the 236 units in the same period in last year. There is increase of 355.5 percent in exports. The demand for exports is mainly coming from neighboring countries and other countries such as Algeria, Chile and Egypt.

But the situation is contradictory in the domestic market. There is gradual decline in sales in India, 10,505 units sales were in period of April to August while compared to the 12,649 sales units in last year in the same period.

It seems, car was not upgraded by Maruti Suzuki India to meet the strict norms which were applied in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkatta, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and in other cities.
