The new Ford Explorer is ready to be unveiled in the United States. The price of the vehicle is expected to be $28,190 and is about a $1000 cheaper than the previous version of the Explorer. The newer version of the ford Explorer is considered to increase the sales charts. The new vehicle is completely redesigned. New features, interiors and engines are added that impresses the vehicle.

The Explorer America concept was unveiled at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The Ford 2011 is considered as the production version of the Explorer America concept. A more sharp transformer type look is given to the Explorer. The vehicle has a new 3.5L TiVCT V6 engine which produces an impressive 290 bhp and torque of 255 lb-ft that is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission instead of a V8 unit.

The overall length of the 2011 Explorer is 197.1 inches and is 3.7 inches longer than the 2010 model. The wheelbase is also about an inch shorter. The maximum towing speed is dropped from 7,000 pounds to 5,000 pounds. The gas mileage is also better in the new version. The new 4-wheel-drive models are rated at 17/23 and the 2-wheel-drive models at 17/25.

The interiors of the vehicle are huge and comfortable. The standard seating arrangement for 7 is provided. Also the arrangement for 6 seats is provided with quad buckets. For all the three rows, a great leg and head room are made available. A big cargo storage area is also provided. Some of the new features of the vehicle include the Explorers free bluetooth enabled phone, advanced navigation, cruise control, Sony Audio system, and heated/cooled front seats with three comfort settings.
