Recently a killer whale trainer died doing what she loved the most. The 40-year-old Dawn Brancheau was giving a lecture during a show at the SeaWorld amusement park in Florida. A 12,000-pound killer whale called Tillikum and known as Tilly, pulled her into the pool by grabbing her ponytail.

According to a witness and corporate curator of zoological operations at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, Dawn was rubbing the killer whale’s head when it grabbed her and pulled her into the pool.

Dawn Brancheau is said to be one most experienced trainers of the park having worked there for about 16 years.

However employees at SeaWorld said that Tilly has a history of killing people. It is said to have killed one of the trainers in 1991 at Sealand. It was then sold to SeaWorld and again in 1999 it was involved in another death. Because of his past Tilly was usually kept apart from other whales and trainers were not allowed to get into water with him.

On that fateful day, it just finished a good show and its behavior was good but suddenly this incident happened. Dawn Brancheau’s family and friends after listening the news about her death said, “She died doing what she loved”.
